Dimitar Petkov of “Hebros-Rowing” Sports club made an incredible achievement. He broke the world record set by Canadian Matthew Goulding for the age of 17-18 years old in 100 meters on a Concept2 Indoor Rower.
The previous record of the Canadian was 14,6 seconds and Dimitar Petkov made it for just 14,2 seconds. The young Bulgarian even broke the ergometer in his effort to beat the record.
Dimitar Petkov was born in Pleven but for the last 11 months has been a part of “Hebros-Rowing” Sports club. He is also a student at Special sports school “Vassil Levski” in Plovdiv. Dimitar Petkov decided to attack the record a week ago and for just 7 days succeeded to make his dream come through. “Ï want to thank my parents for the support. I would also like to thank my coaches and the management of the club. Now I plan to concentrate on breaking the record on 1000 and 2000 meters and also hope to have great success on water”, said Petkov after setting the new record.
